Last night, we (Strope & Swagger Press and I) launched our first kickstarter campaign for my debut book Cater to Me. Within 30 seconds we refreshed an a complete stranger from Canada had backed it for $35. I was floored! They found it organically and followed before we launched. (We thanked them with sock puppets.)
I know it sounds insane to say this, but I keep having to learn over and over that there is a place for these stories in the world. And despite the overwhelming evidence that supports that statement, it’s still hard to believe that people want to read the stories that I am writing. I will and have already taken that to therapy, but I think I just want to say it again for myself and everyone else: Our stories matter. And people want to read them. And I am so so grateful for everyone who is and has been supporting me and us. You all are magical.
