So with that in mind, I’ll show you mine:
As someone who’s worked from home on and off for the past few decades, I’ve written in all kinds of places, from a WeWork with Kombucha on tap and snacks in hamster feeders, to sitting on my living room floor leaned up against my couch in my lucky writing shirt, to an XL inflatable kiddy pool in my backyard in Oakland. My favorite places feel cozy, with lots of room to spread my papers and devices out—and ideally a fur friend nearby. It’s also helpful if there is a printer right next to me.
I’m guessing that if you’ve subscribed to this newsletter as one of my first subscribers, then it means you are a friend and loved one. So thank you. It also means you likely haven’t seen where we live yet. So here’s a little sneak peek.
Right now, here in the Netherlands, this is the corner of my office (that I share with my sweetie) where I’m writing Cater to Me, my first romance novel (corporate femme chef meets country farm butch, thank you very much)…I’m pretty much always double-fisting coffee and water, and I keep that collage of me and my sweetie right next to me for inspiration. ❤
What about you?
In the spirit of building some writing community, I’d love to see where you are making your own magic. And if you aren’t writing, but instead filing other people’s taxes, or you are retired and you love sitting in your favorite recliner playing Blockdoku (awesome, addictive game—lookin’ at you, Mom), I’d love to see that, too.
Until next week.
