Find Your People
One of the reasons I started PotClickity-Wednesday CoWriting was to build my writing community. But that we don’t need to all be writing to be building a community of creatives.
This week I spent the day at my friend Katina’s house. I edited my book while she dyed using natural indigo dyes to make panels for an upcoming performance of Don’t Cry, Emily that involves some deep ritual. (Learn more about her and the piece here—we all need more of this in our lives.) It was so beautiful to look up from my writing and see her painting “resist” rice paste where the designs would appear, and watch her pull the freshly dyed fabric out of buckets in the sun.
Through all of this I was editing and writing—and I was very happy to be with my friend doing her awesome thing while I did mine. This is the same way I feel when I’m cowriting with y’all while my friend Melissa is illustrating, and other people are journaling, writing, etc.
All this to say…I love and appreciate you all.
Keep doing your beautiful things my beautiful friends. ❤
